In various areas of the system, you will encounter tree controls within records. These controls allow you to navigate and select values from structured picklists. Each tree control contains a picklist, which may be:
Flat – a single-level list of values or Hierarchical – containing multiple levels or subsections.

An example of fields that have a tree control is Processes and Departments.
- Each tree control will have a picklist, some picklists are flat others have subsections within.
The example below shows an example of two levels within the ‘Standards’ picklist.
Within the tree control is Search – use the search bar to search the entire list:
Expand/Collapse – use the triangle symbol to expand/collapse the list
Expand all/collapse all – use the link to toggle between Expand all and Collapse all:
Next Level selection – hover over a section tick box to display the ‘Next level’ controller:
Clicking on the ‘Next level’ controller will select all items under that level, saving time selecting them individually:
Show only selected – use the link to toggle between Show only selected and show all:
Selected – displays the number of items chosen, even if those selections are within collapsed sections of the tree.
Clear All – use this to clear any selections made within the list.
